As an adult, what do I need for a photo session?
Here are a few suggestionshowever, please use them as a guide only, everyone is different and you want to feel good in what you are wearing and also comfortable.
Clothing:
It's good to consider the rooms where you will want to hang your photos, think about the colour of the walls and try and choose colours that will compliment this. Dress also to harmonise as a family.l harmonise. Bright colours can be great to wear in the studio but any colours are fine.Choose something that makes you feel good to wear. Feel free to bring along a couple of outfits.
Suggestions:
Evening wear for a more formal look; Jeans or trousers can be great for a casual relaxed look. Shirts, tops, are good, and also a jumper or jacket can enalbe the look to be changed easily.
A word about glasses if you wear them, reactolite will look very dark in the photos so its best to use a pair of clear glasses if you wear them.
Children's toys and clothes, what should we bring?
Jeans or dungarees look great on children. children also look good in bright colours, pinafore dresses, and stripey tights. Accessories such as hats and headbands can be very cheeky! Get them to wear clothing that they look good in. Toys are also welcome, and if it is your childs favourite toy it can be included.
Babies and very young children
It is importrant that your child is happy for the portrait session, avoid times when they are hungry or tired, and arrange the appointment accordning to their needs or routine. You may also wish to bring them a drink in their own bottle or beaker.
Lastly......
Do not prep your children that they need to smile when they come for the photographs, as this may make them feel negative towards the experience and it is not necessary. We like children to be themselves and look very natural. We never use the word 'smile' and instead will entertain the children to bring out the best in them. The children will have a lot of fun, which means we will take some fantastic shots of them.
